1. INTRODUCTION
Prompt Saves ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension developed by Nexaura Studios that helps users save, organize, and access text snippets. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles your data.
By installing and using Prompt Saves, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. WHO WE ARE

3. DATA COLLECTION
Prompt Saves does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identity
- Your browsing history or web activity
- Webpage content (we only read text you explicitly select)
- Keystrokes or mouse activity
- Your location or IP address
- Payment or financial information (payments handled entirely by LemonSqueezy)

4. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your browser unless you choose to export it yourself:
- Your snippet titles and content text
- Category names and color preferences
- Pin status and order of snippets
- Timestamps (when snippets were created and last used)
- Theme preference (dark mode)
- Usage limits and bonus slot tracking
- Pro license activation status (not the key itself in readable form)
- Reward claim flags (whether you have claimed Rate/Share bonuses)

5. NETWORK REQUESTS
Prompt Saves makes ONE and only one type of external network request, and it is entirely optional:
License key validation: When you manually enter and activate a Pro license key in Settings, the extension sends only the license key string to api.lemonsqueezy.com to verify its validity. This also happens silently once every 24 hours to re-confirm the license is still active.
What is sent: The license key string only.
What is NOT sent: Your name, email, IP address, snippets, browsing data, or any other information.
If you never purchase or activate Pro, this request is never made.
The extension also loads the Inter font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) for typography inside the popup. This is a CSS font resource only — no executable scripts are loaded from Google.

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
LemonSqueezy (lemonsqueezy.com)
Used solely for Pro license key validation. Payment processing is handled entirely by LemonSqueezy — we never see your card details.

Used to serve the Inter typeface inside the popup UI.

7. DATA SHARING
We do NOT sell, rent, trade, share, or transfer your data to any third parties under any circumstances. Your snippets and settings are stored only on your own device and are never transmitted to Nexaura Studios or any other party.
We certify that:
- We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties outside of approved use cases.
- We do not use user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
- We do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for any lending purposes.

8. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
storage
Required to save your snippets, categories, and settings locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. The extension cannot function without persistent local storage.
activeTab
Required to detect text you have highlighted on the current webpage. When you open the extension popup, any selected text is automatically pre-filled into the Add Snippet form. This access is limited to the current active tab only and only when you open the popup.
scripting
Required to inject a minimal content script that reads your text selection on the active tab. The script only reads the selected text — it does not access, transmit, or log any other page content or user data.
host_permissions (api.lemonsqueezy.com)
Required solely to validate Pro license keys. Only the license key string is sent — no personal data, snippets, or browsing information is ever included.

9. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
All data is on your device and under your full control:
To delete all data: Uninstall the extension. Chrome automatically clears all extension storage data on uninstall.
To export before deleting: Open the extension → Settings → Export → downloads a JSON backup of all your snippets.
To delete individual items: Use the delete (trash) icon on any snippet card, or the delete button in Category Manager in Settings.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Prompt Saves is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, there is no special risk to children's privacy.

11. SECURITY
All your data is stored locally using Chrome's native sandboxed storage API. The extension also applies the following security measures:
- All imported data is sanitized and validated before being stored
- License key inputs are validated against the expected format before any network request
- Rate limiting prevents abuse of the license validation API
- File imports are restricted to .json files under 2 MB
- Sensitive fields (license key, Pro status) are excluded from export files

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
